I really like making bags. They are nothing to write home about, but they are simple and who doesn't love a bag? I had made this applique for a cape for Lyla, but it turned out that somebody else had the same idea and beat me to it. I decided to put it on a bag that Lyla and her mom can use for the library. I met Ashley at the library so it seemed fitting.
I always try to learn something new with everything I make. With this bag I figured out how to square the edges of the bag. I have been sewing a whole piece of material in my bags to do the same thing, thus making it much much harder than it needed to be. Thank goodness for online tutorials!!!
Check out the super awesome, vintage lining. :) All of the material I used for this bag was handed down to me by Jeff's late Aunt Margie. I am so grateful for the family to let me have some of her sewing stuff. I have already had a lot of fun with it.

So fun! I LOVE the lining, too! Can't wait to see it up close! btw, I cracked up that it really is a towel and not a flag. I was really embarrassed about not knowing what I sent you. :)
